Our charities

Running for yourself is good; running for others too is even better. Income from our shop and our charity races first keeps the website and our events running, then, depending on their success, supports charities that protect animals and the environment.

Our criteria

  • a French charity or foundation, officially recognised as being of public interest ("reconnue d'utilité publique");
  • published and audited accounts, and if possible the "Don en confiance" label;
  • concrete action in the field, in France, for nature or animals.

The charities we have chosen

LPO, the French League for the Protection of Birds

Founded in 1912 and recognised as being of public interest since 1986, the LPO protects birds, wildlife and their habitats; it is BirdLife International's partner in France. Its regional branch, LPO Alsace, works close to us, in Mulhouse and throughout the Haut-Rhin. lpo.fr · alsace.lpo.fr

WWF France

The French branch of the World Wide Fund for Nature is a foundation recognised as being of public interest. It works to protect endangered species, forests, oceans and the climate. wwf.fr

France Nature Environnement

A federation created in 1968 and recognised as being of public interest since 1976, FNE brings together thousands of local nature conservation associations in mainland France and overseas. fne.asso.fr

SPA, the French Society for the Protection of Animals

The oldest animal welfare charity in France, recognised as being of public interest since 1860 and holder of the "Don en confiance" label, the SPA takes in, cares for and rehomes tens of thousands of abandoned animals every year. la-spa.fr

Our commitment to transparency

Global Runners has no official link with these charities: we chose them for their reliability. Every year, we will publish here the amount of donations made and the names of the charities that received them. Do you know another recognised charity that deserves our support? Write to us.
